this shoot was super amazing and well put together for me! it was my birthday present to ivory (happy 14th birthday ivory!) and these just came out so well i think. i was stressing over the shoot for sometime but then it just came together like my shoots always do! i think it felt very moonrise kingdom-y because of just a lot of different factors. i felt like i was in some kind of fairy tale when i was taking these. thank you to ivory and lydon for being great models :)

so the mammoth is this beautiful warehouse building that serene's aunt and uncle, aron and hallie, bought and let us shoot in! despite us getting there an hour early and serene's hair almost going flat because of the rain, this shoot was such a success! i love shooting with serene because she's one of my best friends and is just a perfect pixie child. thank you to serene for styling and walking around the place in her underwear for a few pictures.

also, i'm very happy and surprised with myself because only a few of these photos were out of focus, and it was almost completely dark in there so i couldn't see! (and i have a manual focus only lens)
yay for all things good.

kayla's big hair

i suck at titling blog posts buuuut that's not the point! i had this shoot on hold for a while posting-wise because we thought it might be for a magazine, but now we can post the photos.
model is kayla holts. she's fabulous. her posing in on point and her facial expressions are different and wonderful. makeup and hair by cassie lynn young who is one of my favorites. and thank you to dot fox for lending us clothes, you guys have some fabulous stuff.

this shoot was just so good all around! hair and makeup went so well, i think cassie really pulled it off by doing something different with color and such. then there was just good karma everywhere, we were shooting in a familiar place which was nice, and lots of laughs were happening throughout the shoot.
when i got home to develop the photos, i developed 2 blank rolls of black and white film and cried and cried and cried because i thought they were the ones from the shoot, but they were actually rolls i hadn't shot so i was safe. yay!

storm night

a few weeks ago i planned a shoot up in cincinnati with taylor thompson, thank you to elizabeth hicks for driving us in the pouring rain and for styling, thank you to serene conaway for helping with styling too, and thank you to hank walton for doing makeup and hair and doing a fantastic job with it. these are the photos that didn't make it onto my website but that i still like. also, thank you to hank's aunt for letting us shoot at her house!

taylor is so beautiful. i had had two shoots before this on different days and they were both kind of awful, so when i saw the photos from this i was quite happy. it's been a few weeks since i've shot these but they're still some of my favorite photos.

my birthday is on the 3rd and ryan and i are waking up at sunrise and going swimming in the fountain by my house. the day after my birthday my mom and i are driving up to columbus, oh for me to shoot two beautiful girls from sigal models. that's my next shoot so you'll see an update from me then :)
